At the time of taking the insurance cover:
1. Fill up the proposal form by answering all questions therein.
2. In order to obtain full indemnity in the event of a total loss of the vehicle either due to accidental damage or theft, it is desirable to give correct market value of the vehicle as insured estimated value.
3. Ensure that the driver is having effective driving license to drive a particular type of vehicle.
4. Please get the details of the driver, his local address as well as his permanent address for safety purposes.
For prompt settlement of claim, please comply with the following In the event of theft
1. Inform the police and the Insurance Company immediately.
2. If R.C. Book is stolen along with the vehicle, obtain duplicate book from the transport authority immediately.
3. Keep a liaison with the police in regard to the progress of the investigation.
4. If the vehicle is not traced after a reasonable period, get a report from the police to that effect.
5. If the vehicle is traced, inform the insurers as well as the police immediately.
In the event of accident to the vehicle not involving injury to third party
1. It is advisable to inform the police about the accident immediately.
2. Inform the insurance company immediately quoting the police number to enable arrangement of early survey.
3. Obtain a Claim Form from the company, fill it up correctly and completely. Submit the same along with the estimate of repairs to the Insurance Office.
4. Produce the driving license and the R.C. Book to the surveyor for verification.
5. Produce route permit, fitness certificate, badge in case of taxi, bus etc.. Also to the surveyor for verification.
6. Furnish additional information, material to the accident, as may be called for.
In the event of accident involving death/injury/and/or damage to third party's property
1. Arrange to remove the injured person to hospital for treatment and inform the police and the insurer immediately.
2. Take proper defense action in case of police prosecution and keep the insurance company informed of the progress of the case.
3. In case of any notice from the third party motor vehicle claims tribunal or a court of law, send the same to the company for further action. Also send all notices, summons etc., received by you to the company for attention.
4. Send Claim Form duly completed together with driving license and registration book for verification.
